Bitrates below 1M provide much lower quality. Above 1M is good except there is a flashing affect, I suppose it is a form of pixilation. The output file size however is much greater even when the quality is not as good.

So there must be something more than simply the bitrate or how I am changing the bitrate. I am changing the bitrate by keeping everything as the default except choosing a different bitrate in the drop-down. I get the flashes pixilation? Small videos tend to be half in size but larger videos compress more, most much more.

So the question is how to do the same as what ffmpeg does using Movie Studio Platinum 13? If that is not possible then the answer to my question is to use ffmpeg separately.

When I play a video that was processed by Movie Studio Platinum 13, even at a low bit rate, using any other video player then there seems to be no problem. So I need to do more analysis but it might be that the solution is as easy as setting the bit rate to a relatively low value. Click "Convert" to start converting your video from H. Once the conversion completes, you can click "Open" button to get the output files effortlessly.

Now you have got it right, just to import and edit H. This H. In the meantime I did reduce the file size in Handbrake and uploaded to Youtube. Not sure if it reduced quality on Youtube. But now that I know Youtube reduces file size, the next videos I will upload without Handbrake. Thank you for your thorough and well explained answer.

Double render means: 1. Render video with Movie Studio 2. Render video from Movie Studio with Handbrake There is nothing wrong with rendering just twice, but you should try and avoid it when possible. There are a lot of factors that can contribute to file size, besides what I had already mentioned.

Just over 1 GB for 8 minutes is really not that bad at all. All the best. Not Allowed: to create new topic. Not Allowed: to reply. And yeah, if you need more than 30 days, yeah. There are lots of free screen capture apps out there. Last edited by Lawrence; at PM. Another one to consider is Bandicam. Worth a test. It's very fast. Last edited by airon; at AM. I got Bandicam to work okay but it's pretty klunky.

I could direct it to a folder but it wouldn't let me name the files. More importantly I couldn't get a decent picture, always slightly blurred. I tried different settings but it still had a slight blur to it. Other than that I really don't mind the watermark because what I'm recording is for a friend and it doesn't matter much. I did try to record with it but when I hit record, the record button completely disappeared and I had no way to stop it.

Heh heh, I'm sure there's a shortcut key but I didn't know what it was so I ended up having to shut down my computer. Since it's not free I don't know if I'll mess with it any more, maybe. I've always been impressed with the quality of the LICEcap videos, they're a little jerky but they're fairly clear, clear enough to read the menus and such. Up until now I've never had anything to compare them too.

I am using Vegas Pro 14 which is slightly different. For one thing. The settings include something called pixel format. Do i use 8 bit, 32 floating bit video levels or 32 full bit full range.

I suspect its 8 bit but I want to be sure. There is also something called motion blur type and resample mode. Would appreciate your thoughts on those.

I notice that some of my render videos had a blue tint on the people which did not appear in the raw footage. Obviously I need to make some adjustments. The video was shot in on a Panasonic camcorder which records in an M2ts file. Thanks, Charles Gross. Hi Charles Leave pixel format set to 8 bit for everyday video. The 32 bit settings are true professional settings for advanced video types that pro movie makers use. Most people set Resampling to disabled. To comment on your "blue tint", please post a new message in the forum and then I can say more.

Vegas should not be adding in blue tints.

User Name Remember Me? Password Mark Forums Read. Sony Movie Kovie Platinum 12, gurus? I've been trying to put together some instruction videos for a friend. First of all Movie Studio Platinum 12 does not like the gifs very well but that's another matter.

Everything I've tried so far with the different render settings has turned out blury. The LICEcaps themselves studo much better definition. So does anyone have any suggestions for Render settings? I prefer the Windows Media Player and or Reaper for playback. At this point I'm not worried about audio, I may or may not add it later. Put Licecap away and use this for your screen captures Originally Posted by Lawrence. I use Vegas Pro And yeah, if you need more than 30 days, yeah.

Up until now I've never had anything to compare them too. I just wish there was a way sony movie studio platinum 12 compression free edit them with Movie Studio Platinum 12 and then render them with a decent picture quality.

Although Movie Studio don't like the gifs, the gifs slow down Movie Studio tremendously, I can manage to get them edited and then rendered but I can't find a decent rendering format /8186.txt setting.

I should mention that this video stuff is completely new to me. Here ya go Tod Assuming all of your Licecap videos are the same size, do what I do below, force the Vegas project to match the media settings of the video so it doesn't resample, which slows things down and uses more cpu.

It should play smoother when you do that. You should probably always do that anyway, make sure the Vegas setting matches the video properties by selecting the video sony movie studio platinum 12 compression free in the gif below. Hope that helps. That translates to YT very well and the file sizes ссылка huge. You probably also want to ensure that your Studlo gif capture size is a relative size that easily translates to x widescreen without cropping compreession stretching or similar.

Last edited by Lawrence; at AM. Thanks Lawrence, that does studioo help, but Movie Studio is still very slow with the gifs. When I make edits or even sometimes move the cursor I get the grey screen with the turning doughnut for about 30 seconds or so. The main thing is I'm not getting good renders, I would have thought there would be a setting that would render it near perfect like the original gif.

Is this because it's a gif? I'm not too concerned about these little instruction vids, they'll work fine. My biggest concern is down the road, I do have some very high quality professional video I have to deal with. Surely there must be a way to get better quality than Comperssion getting with these comprssion, right? As you can see, I'm a total newbie with all this, so please be sony movie studio platinum 12 compression free.

I finally got the BB FlashBack to work to record with and it has pretty good quality. I haven't had a chance to try it on my studio computer yet but I think it's going to be much better. It should. All it's doing aside from video FX and transitions and all that is copying the exact same video frames to a new file, assuming the export format is the same as the source format.

Sony movie studio platinum 12 compression free format are you exporting to? If you record high quality HD sony movie studio platinum 12 compression free compdession export that to a compressed format, sure, you probably will lose some quality. Whether that difference is easily detectable I think largely depends on the export format and compression settings atudio all that. I rarely use the Vegas export presets exactly as they are. I much more often dig into them and adjust some of the compression settings and all that and store my own custom export presets, once I find a configuration that works well for a particular kind of source video.

The export platihum that usually turn out well for me are, in no particular order Unfortunately Billy got cancer and passed on about 6 years ago so the video never got finished. However, I promised Billy I would try to finish it if at all possible, and with the new computer I'm getting I think platium just might be possible. Originally Posted by Jeffsounds.
